After an incredible 2010-2011 snowmobile season, many clubs and grooming contractors decided it is time to upgrade their grooming equipment for the upcoming season.  The equipment grant-in-aid program assists grooming clubs and contractors with the purchase of grooming power units and drags and funding is based on contract trail mileage and the five year average of grooming weeks.

The deadline for this program was June 1st, 2011 and there were a total of 36 equipment applications submitted for the 2011-2012 season.   The overall cost for the equipment to be acquired is over $2.8M!!  Of the 36 applications, 21 are for the purchase of power units, 12 are for the purchase of grooming drags, and 3 are for assistance with equipment capital repairs.
